Who is Pythagoras?
Pythagoras was an ancient Greek philosopher, mystic and mathematician (c. 570 - c. 495 BC). Living in the 6th century BC, Pythagoras believed in explaining the entire universe through numbers.
He acquired all of his numerology knowledge from travelling to Egypt, Persia and Mesopotamia and other locations. He combined all of this knowledge and created a system of his own, correlating each letter of the alphabet to the numbers 1 through to 9. This system allows for the deciphering of deeper meaning in names, words and birth dates.
Pythagoras was also the first person to call the universe a kosmos. The Greek term, which is the root of the word cosmetic, refers to an equal presence of order and beauty.
Pythagorean Numerology system

According to Pythagoras, numbers are vehicles to universal energy and knowledge. When he was asked, "Which is the wisest being in the cosmos?" he replied, "The number".

Pythagoras, a believer in reincarnation and past life existence, thought that souls choose specific circumstances of their birth before incarnating on earth. This includes things such as their birth date, birth time and their parents and family.
This is because in the numbers that compose the birth date, family name and chosen first name, lies the destine of the soul. Along with traits of character, personality and all the gifts and challenges that the soul carries for this particular lifetime.

Parents received instructions on raising the child to magnify their gifts and limit challenges, fostering a successful and happy life.
